Effective, quick and non-invasive
With treatment times of 5 seconds and no dressing or aftercare needed you can continue with your normal daily activities straight after treatment. With few exceptions, most people including children, with skin lesions are able to have this treatment and it can even be used on hands. With an 80% success rate, Swift is the most effective treatment available.
WHAT IS SWIFT?
Swift is a new technology, developed in the UK, which has been licensed for the general treatment of skin lesions in Podiatry and Dermatology. Swift uses microwave energy which is delivered through a special probe applied to the skin to treat the affected tissue.
DOES IT HURT?
It is not uncommon for patients to feel a sharp sensation, similar to an injection. Unlike most treatments for verruca, pain felt during the treatment quickly subsides, and only in rare cases is there any prolonged pain.
WHAT CAN I DO AFTER TREATMENT?
In some cases the treated area may feel sore but will not usually prevent you undertaking normal daily activities.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?
This is dependent on how you respond to treatment. In some cases, you may require a course of treatment (treatment regime is determined by your clinician and your Podiatrist will be able to discuss this with you).
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
You will need to be assessed to ensure that SWIFT treatment is appropriate for you. The Initial Verruca Assessment will cost £50. Each individual SWIFT treatment costs £135. On average a patient needs 3 treatments.
WHO CAN HAVE THIS TREATMENT?
With a few exceptions, most people with skin lesions would be able to have this treatment. Swift is not recommended for use on diabetic patients, patients with implanted electronic devices or electrodes or for use close to metallic objects such as metal foot implants, jewellery etc.
ARE THERE ANY OTHER TREATMENT OPTIONS?
There are a number of other treatment options available for warts and verruca. Our Podiatrists will carry out an assessment and give you an overview of all the treatment options they offer for verruca, the benefits and drawbacks of each, and will provide a recommendation based on your individual circumstances.
